X, which many people still call Twitter, lets you download an archive of your own account. The archive can include your posts, the photos and videos you uploaded, your direct messages and your account details. It is a good way to back up your account before you delete it, or just to keep a record of what you posted. This guide shows how to request it and what to do when the file arrives.
You can only download the archive of your own account.
X prepares the archive and tells you when it is ready, usually by email and a notification. It can take a day or more, depending on how much you posted.
The download link does not last forever, so save the file soon.
If you need just one image or video that you posted, you do not have to request the whole archive. Open your post, and use the options on the media or the share menu to save it, if your app version offers it. The archive also holds your uploaded media if you need it later.
