A Snapchat Story disappears after 24 hours, and a Spotlight post can be deleted or lost if you change accounts. If you want to keep your own posts, Snapchat has built-in ways to save them. This guide shows how to save your own Story and your own Spotlight videos, and how to get them into your phone's camera roll.
This guide is only about content you posted yourself.
If you do not want to save each Story by hand, you can ask Snapchat to keep a copy of every Story you post. Open your profile, tap the settings icon, then open Memories and look for the setting that saves your Story posts automatically. Switch it on.
Saved videos may look slightly different from the original, for example if Snapchat adds its own branding or compresses the file.

If you did not save a Story or Spotlight and it has been deleted, you may still find a copy in your account data. Our guide to downloading your Snapchat data shows how to request it.
